When your child is being quiet....

When a toddler is being quiet and is not in the same room as their parent....

....that usually means their doing something mischevious.

Emily is no exception to this rule.

*Cue Suspenseful Music*

Time: 4:30pm. Friday afternoon.
Location: The kitchen
Perpetrator: Emily Mae Mabb
Items of Mischief: A can of shortening, a measuring spoon, a KitchenAid mixer, and some wild imagination

The perpetrator was told "no-no", "yucky", and "messy" before being taken to a different location and shown something to distract her so plotting mind. She is currently napping, but no longer considered armed and messy.

Mabb Family Olympics 2009

The time has come, the walrus said, to talk of Mabbs and things!
Of 4-wheeling and mountains, and lots of trees, of all the fun they bring!

Emily loves to "4-wheel", she is quite the riding pro!

And Kristin likes to follow wherever Scott will go!

Emily, the little traveler, 9 hours in the car!

But her favorite off all was riding with Papa--they would go so far!

The yearly adventure for Mabbs in over, we had alot of fun!
This year the team of the Jon Mabb family, finally had won!

We said our goodbyes, and drove home once more, but this time not so fast,
we loved spending time with our cousins and family, but how fast the time went past!

Next year there will be two more babies to hold,and we'll have more fun I'm sure,
for cousins are fun, and brothers are too. Till next year we'll just have to endure.

Congratulations, Katelyn!!

This is bit belated (only by a month!) but I wanted to post about my sisters Katelyn's college graduation, because it was a weekend I won't forget!

Katelyn has worked very hard to finish her degree in four years (even with a couple different school transfers!) and we are all very proud of her accomplishment. Scott and I attended the ceremony after getting a babysitter for Emily! *gasp* It was a nice getaway...and it was neat to see my little sister do something she had set her mind out to do! (Stubborn Nelson girls!)

Meanwhile...

I did warn the babysitter that Emily had been throwing up the day before, but hadn't for 24 hours and I figured it was just something she ate. I warned the babysitter and she said it was no big deal.. (more on this later)

Here's Katelyn and her husband Nelson. They both work very hard and are moving to Atlanta in less than a month!



After the graduation, we all went to a resteraunt for a celebration dinner. (still minus Emily...) We were happy, well fed...but... oh wait, here's a picture before everything went CRAZY!



...okay...now we can move on...

On the way home from St. George, I wasn't feeling very well. Nauseas...headache... just overall IKCY-ness. Went straight to bed (it was about 11-ish after we thanked and payed the babysitter) only to be woken up at 2 am to go THROW UP! Omigoodnes.. I have not thrown up since I was in labor with Emily and it was not fun. (I don't think I will EVER eat roast beef from a resteraunt again.) Don't worry, it gets worse...

About 30 minutes later, Scott wakes up and starts throwing up. Now, HE hasn't thrown up since he was probably 12 years old. I am SO grateful that we had 2 toilets in our house. We were quite the sight to see. Between the two of us, I had the "most" energy to drive to WalMart at 3am to get some Gatorade and Saltine crackers...and some Pepto-Bismol. I sat in the aisle for a while, trying to decide which medicine was the best to get. Pitiful, I know. (Feel sorry for me right about....NOW!....Thank you.)

Luckily Emily slept through the entire ordeal and as soon as the Instacare was open, we all loaded in the car and were the first patients.

Emily patiently waiting for Mommy and Daddy to be done getting the Phenegrin (sp?) anti-nausea shots in their....ahem... well... anyways..



She looks a little concerned. But really, she was fine. Still in her jammies... but fine.

The rest of the day was kind of just lazy and sluggish. The WORST part about the whole thing was that my parents were visiting from Japan for Katelyn's graduation and they didn't want to come see us (honestly, I don't blame them...) because if they flew home from the States with ANY kind of flu symptom, the Japanese airport would send them to a quarantined hotel for 10 days. Can't be bringing "swine flu" to Japan, now...

We did get better. Somehow Emily survived. I am now addicted to Saltine crackers (no I'm not pregnant..) Congratulations, Katelyn. We are so proud of you!!! Oh yeah...and...

....the babysitter got sick the following day.... (Sorry, Natalie!)
