My First REAL Father's Day

The time has come! What a wonderful day!



It all began with sleeping in 'till 7:30 am. I have never felt so rested, however the day only got better with every hour. I was greeted by Princess Emily who ate a delicious breakfast with me. All of which, of course, was prepared by the beautiful Queen of the castle. (Kristin) :)



After breakfast we opened presents!! See how it is getting better...I received multiple excitiing gifts including, letters from my beautful wife and precious daughter (translated by Mommy: she has a gift.) Also I flattering card from my "In-laws" which is always nice to hear and a book about the "Best" Dads, which had many helpful insights like how to get out of changing diapers and others. The giant white ice chest was a smokin' good deal from Omaha Steaks that we will get to enjoy for a while. We had to have the Top Sirloins for dinner and might I add, simply delicious!

And, thankfully, since I wear a shirt and tie everyday, the traditional shirt and tie was very much appreciated from the Misses. And, was pretty colors. :) She does a much better of matching I often do.

And of course through out the rest of the day I was compeltely pampered. She made my favorite lunch, Crab Salad sandwiches, let me take a nap, changed all the diapers, go on a family walk in our wonderful neighborhood, and let me play with Emmy to end the day with some Daddy-daughter time before her bedtime.

But wait!! That's not all!! She made me some deliecious homemade from scratch brownies that were eaten to fast to take a picture of to show. She did for the record start a new **Trumpets Please** Mabb Family Tradition by declaring that from this day forth she will made any desert I want on Father's Day as long as it is known previous to the day of celebration. Of course, after twisting my arm I decided to agree to her demands.

Now for some "blah" as some would call it, but as Father's Day has come and gone. The more I admire the Father's of my past. Not only but especially my own Father who helped me to know how to be a Father that makes a difference and fulfills the role of a Father to the best of his abilities. He taught how to make mistakes and improve all you can. So, all though I was smothered with gifts from my loving family, I know the credit goes to MY dad most of all. Thank you Dad. I love you.

Emily's Adventurous Day

So, today started out like a normal day. I put Emily's hair in pigtails though, which she must know, because whenever I do that, she turns into (cue music) ADVENTURE BABY! She gets into all sorts of mischief. Today, I decided to listen to my friend Chandi's advice and "Blog it." (said as quickly as possible in a funny kind of way.) I was practicing a song on the piano and turning around every few seconds to make sure that Emily was getting into TOO much trouble. She had pulled some tissues out of a box and pulled the wooden ducks off the table, no biggie:

She also decided to rearrange the blocks from saying: (this picture was taken after I put them back together)

to saying: ...interpret as you will...

The final straw was when she pulled over the roses and the result was this:

Water dripping on the floor, tissues everywhere, and a happy smiling, pig-tail wearing baby.

Too cute to be mad at though, since I really set myself up for it leaving the roses within her grasp. So, we cleaned up the mess and decided to go out side to let some of her mischief out in the yard. :)
First we sat by some pretty flowers and ate some dirt:

Then, we crawled around on the driveway for a while, examining the cracks and eating a piece of rock:

Then, to top it off, we went to the backyard and we played in the Daisy bush and sat on the super neat toilet that came out of the Master Bedroom when we bought the house:

Overall, it was a very adventurous..well, 20 minutes or so. Emily, excuse me *cue music* ADVENTURE BABY is quite curious and loves to put everything in her mouth. We love her though, even-- or rather especially --when she wears her pigtails.

I love my husband...

Scott took me out on a date last week and "picked me up" for it even! He went from the back door to the front door, rang the doorbell, and gave me these beautiful roses. He is so thoughtful and makes me so happy...I am grateful everyday to have him as my eternal companion.

Mabb Family Olympics!!

The slideshow below is from our trip to the Mabb's Ranch near Clay Springs (eastern), Arizona. It is a beautiful mountain property and we had the 4th annual Mabb family Olympics! We placed 3rd overall due to some scoring discrepancies, but we placed 1st in the Hill Run...oh yeah! :)

Well, almost TWO months has gone by since we...well, I (Kristin) posted. And...I'm sorry!!! So, here's my June resolution. GET CAUGHT UP! :) We have taken tons of pictures and all will be forgiven once I share them, right? Let's hope so. So, enjoy. :)
