She Will Survive

Emily started her attempt at crawling. It's kind of a half army crawl combined with rolling sideways so she can reach what she wants. It's cute. Very resourceful, I think...The music is playing from my phone. I thought the music was appropriate. :)

"THE" cake

Here it is! The infamous cake! I took Wednesday off to make this cake and it probably took start to finish about 7 stinkin' hours!!! Emily spent the day in the bouncy chair...she's a trooper! Anyway, it was for our RS birthday party and it was a hit. (Let's just hope that this doesn't turn into an every ward event needs a cake thing..) For what it's worth...this cake is HUGE! It took up my entire kitchen table. Wanna piece??

Cake Decorating Class

I just finished taking Cake I of the Wilton Cake Decorating classes at our local craft store. I made three cakes and took pictures so that I could see if I was progressing at all. THEN, at our enrichment board meeting, I volunteered to make the cake for our Relief Society birthday party. Little did I realize that we're talking a HUGE cake (enough for about 65 people). There isn't a picture of that one because I'm making it tonight, but I will be sure to post it later.

This is the first cake I made. It was for Scott's work (he work at T-Mobile, obviously..) but it was fun to make the pink frosting!! It's very pink.

This cake was because we had to learn how to do "clowns." The clown head is a little plastic thing with a stick on the end. The rest of the clown is made completely of frosting and the ball is a green gum ball. The inside is strawberry..mmm

This cake is an Easter bonnet. Don't look too closely because it was a BEAST to frost. The bow and flowers were really fun to do though, and there's a rose on the back of the bow. Leaves are my new favorite thing to do.
Okay, enough cakes for now. The monster cake project will be happening tonight and tomorrow, so I'll be sure to get a picture of that.
We gave these cakes away, so we didn't have to eat them ourselves!!! :)
Cake, anyone?

Short Hair!

So, I only cut my hair about once a year (don't judge) but when I do get it cut, i whack it. This also allows me to have enough hair to donate to Locks of Love. This particular cut was 9 inches. My hair grows really fast so this is the third (i think) time that I've been able to donate it in the last three years. It makes me not so sad that there's so much less hair on my head. Anyway, here's a picture since not everyone lives close enough to see it. :) (ahem..mom..kara..kourtney..) In this picture, it's curled under, but sometimes I flip it out too. It looks pretty cute in pigtails too...but I'm 23. Are pigtails okay when you're 23? I hope so. -Kristin

Jumping On The Blogwagon

In an attempt to keep better in touch with family members and take more pictures, I have created this blog. I didn't think I would jump on the blogwagon, since it seemed like so much "work," but I am going to give it a go and see for myself. (If I can figure out how to do it all..) Please feel free to make suggestions. I need all the help I can get! Love to all! Kristin
