Here's my graduate!!
Scott graduated with a double major in Physical Education and Finance on Saturday, May 1st. He has been attending SUU the last five years to complete this degree and I couldn't be more proud of all he has done.
Now while going to school and getting a double major is a feat in and of itself, I would like to take this time to brag a little bit about my husband and his accomplishment.
Scott is a very hard working husband. Throughout our whole marriage he has always worked at least two jobs to make sure that we would be able to survive. At one point he was working three (UPS, Utah Shakespearean Festival, and T-Mobile). He also attended school while doing these three jobs. Needless to say, there was very little sleep and amazingly (I still don't know how he does it) he never complains. I'm serious.
While we have been able to whittle his work load back down to two jobs (promotions are always a great help), he still has been very busy. Add to this mix taking care of a wife (pregnant at the moment) and a 2 year old daughter, a church calling, a house to fix up, and you have quite a hefty combination.
He has constantly amazed me at all of the projects for school that he does and does very well. He volunteers to be the leader of group projects at school and leads them very well. His paper writing skills (as I am, of course, his editor) have seriously improved from five years ago when I couldn't read three sentences without finding a fragmented sentence. His papers are now very good. :) I'm also proud of this.
While the job market has not been very fruitful in our search for a post-graduation job, we are very fortunate that he does have two jobs that will sufficiently provide for us until the market and economy improve. (Maybe a little hidden blessing, seeing as we will be welcoming a baby to our family in 6 weeks and moving may have "done me in.") Heavenly Father is ultimately in charge and will provide something for us (with, of course, our hard work and continued diligence in searching) when His timing is right. I firmly believe this.
So, here's my "little letter" to Scott:
Dear Scott,
Thank you for working so hard to finish your degree. You're done! No more tests, homework, projects, finals, or rushing to and from work and school multiple times a day. I want you to know how proud I am of you and your accomplishment.
Thank you for working your jobs so diligently and not complaining...well...ever. You have provided for us so that I can stay home with our darling Emily. She and I are both very grateful. You have given me a great gift.
Thank you for, throughout all of the demands at work and school, still taking time out to be a really awesome dad and husband. She loves it when her daddy comes through the door. We look forward to spending as much time with you as we can now that there is no more school work!!

Here are some pictures of the occasion. Funny story: Emily did NOT like the hat Scott was wearing and kept telling him to take it off and "give it to the bishop"...we're not sure why.

Scott's parents were also able to come up from Arizona this weekend to see their graduate too:
My Grandma Nelson (or "Grandma Mouse" as Emily calls her) also was able to come. She started walking away for a minute and Emily yelled as loud as she could in front of everyone "GRANDMA MOUSE! COME BACK!!!" So when we got a picture with her, Emily pulled us all in really close:
