An Ode to Mothers' Day
I awoke to the smell of something I didn't have to bake.
Blueberry muffins, my Scott did make.
A treat in every right, a breakfast divine,
time to get ready for church--woah, look at the time!
After curling my hair, and ironing my dress,
Scott had gotten Emmy ready--oh his soul, please bless!
Off to church to play the organ and sit quietly in the pew,
but now to teach Young Womens--there is so much to do!
Home again, home again, church was so great!
Let's eat a sandwich, sit and talk, clean the plate.
Now for a massage, a nap, and a walk,
"Can life get any better? I submit that it cannot!"
My favorite part about the day,
was watching this scene, as it played.
A girl and her daddy, sitting and having some fun.
A happier mom you won't find. No, not one.
After dinner du jour, of BBQ Chicken and some veggies,
it was time for Emily's bath--where went the duckies? (okay, so that doesn't rhyme..sorry!)
Let's sing her to sleep, as she asks for a "song,"
My favorite part is when Dad joins in and tries to sing along!
Let's watch a classic -- "Singin' in the Rain,"
I try my best to not join in and sing the whole refrain!
Off to bed, the day is done, and soon we say goodnight.
I say my prayers and thank the Lord, this day was just right.

Happy Mothers Day to all, I hope your day was one to remember! Here is the scene that I will cherish from this day!

That's the face she makes when you say "Smile!"
Priceless.
