Meeting with Colette!

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to meet with Scentsy's co-founder, Colette Gunnell. She his fabulous! She lives in N. Utah, but came down to Cedar City specifically to have a meeting with any S. Utah consultants that could make it. We did a mini-training at the Pizza Factory and she gave us SO many great new ideas for this summer with Scentsy. We had four consultants there, but most importantly it was nice to get to know some of the other ladies in S. Utah that sell Scentsy. We're "all in the same boat", so to speak. We had a wonderful time and I learned a lot! Scentsy has never posted less than a 350% growth any quarter since they began. Isn't that amazing? They are celebrating 5 years this summer, and went from 1,000 consultants in 2008 to 30,000 in 2009--AMAZING! I feel so blessed to be part of this fabulous company. It truly is a wonderful product and has changed our lives!

Here's a picture of all of us after lunch:

A fabulous group of ladies and good time had by all! Thank you, Colette!

Extreme Blog Makeover!

I have been meaning to do this for a while! Our blog has served the purpose of posting pictures so that Emily's far-away Grandparents could watch her grow up and see what we've been up to. This results in once monthly marathon picture posts. So, our blog has had an "Extreme Blog Makeover" courstesy of The Cutest Blog on the Block and my mad skills with Microsoft Publisher.

I will be hopefully be updating this much more often and will not always include a picture *gasp* because sometimes it will just be my thoughts. My goal is to make this somewhat of a journal, so that I may have a record of my daily ramblings, even if I don't take the time to write it down on paper. (I can type much faster than I can write!) For what it's worth...

MOVE THAT POST!!!!

So, how does it look?

For the record, my first official "new blog" entry is down below...scroll on down!

Returned to Sender...

We have lived in our house for going on three years now and have received very few pieces of mail for the previous owners, the Wheelwrights. They lived in this house for 50 years and took very good care of it, as it is still in pretty good shape--especially the hard wood floors, all things considered! When we do get mail for them, it is usually addressed to Mrs. Wheelwright, who now lives in a nursing home, so I've been told. However, yesterday we got a letter for Mr. Wheelwright. You see, he passed away around the same time that we moved into our house. (We found out our first Sunday in church when they were thanking "everyone for their help with the funeral of Brother Wheelwright." Then when people asked us where we moved into, there was that awkward silence following 'The Old Wheelwright Place'...) Anyway, I wasn't sure what to do with this letter addressed to him. It was from the Boy Scouts of America's local chapter addressed specifically to Mr. Wheelwright. What do you write? No longer at this address? No such person? I wasn't sure, so I let Scott take care of it. This morning this is what it said:

"Deceased. RTS." (Return to Sender)

I guess that makes sense. It's a polite way of saying, you probably don't need to send mail here anymore to Mr. Wheelwright. As I was putting it back on the mailbox for the mailman to take back, it got me thinking...

We all come to this earth to accomplish a mission in life. When we are done, we are--in a way--"Returned to Sender." Heavenly Father sent us here to find out who we are, be tested and tried, and then return home to live with Him. It made me think, how am I doing? Am I on the right track? Did I miss one of the tasks He had set out for me because I wasn't going in the right direction?

And then a not-so-spiritual thought came to mind. My mom (or is it my Grandma?) has a magnet on her fridge that reads:

"God sent me to this earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now, I'm so far behind, I'll never die!"

Either way, it gave me a deeper appreciation for life. Something we all need now and again.
